Few events in history have had the unparalleled impact of changing the world in which we live as 9/11. It has significantly changed how we view the importance of security. The leading issue of the day has become, and will continue to be, Homeland Security.

As stated by President George W. Bush: “…there is an overriding and urgent mission here in America today, and that’s to protect our homeland. We have been called into action, and we’ve got to act.“

That “call into action“ will take on a variety of forms. It will require the considerable efforts and interplay between the “best and the brightest“ in government (federal, state and local) and the private sector working together to form relationships and partnerships to achieve the maximum level of preparedness to anticipate, prevent and respond to acts of terrorism so as to protect our nation, families and communities.

Cutting-Edge Homeland Security Program Establishes its position as the Nation’s leading Homeland Security professional membership association

The American College of Forensic Examiners Institute (ACFEI), the world’s largest forensic membership association with a 14-year track record, responded to the President’s “call to action” by developing its groundbreaking program to become Certified in Homeland Security. Since its inception in January 2003, the Certified in Homeland Security (CHS) program has earned a reputation as the professional membership association dedicated to the certification, training, and continuing education of professionals interested in Homeland Security from across the nation.

With a diverse membership of highly qualified professionals including active and retired military, law enforcement and security experts, firefighters and other first responders, physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, dentists, psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors, social workers, crisis interveners, accountants, IT and telecommunication professionals, engineers and others, the CHS program has at the core of its membership some of the world’s leading professionals who have significant experience with and links to Homeland Security.

Our total commitment to Homeland Security, together with an extraordinary knowledge base on Homeland Security provided by our members, combined with an in-place organizational structure designed to deliver the highest quality training and continuing education opportunities on Homeland Security possible, places CHS in a pivotal position to make significant contributions to the most pressing issue facing our Nation.
